Call for Applications for a Senior Academic Position in the School of Jewish Studies and Archeology.
The School of Jewish Studies and Archaeology at Tel-Aviv University invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track position beginning March or October 2026.
The position is open-rank and invites applications from scholars specializing in Hebrew Bible, Rabbinic literature of late antiquity, or archaeology. Preference will be given to candidates whose work is interdisciplinary in nature—bridging textual, historical, legal, or material-cultural approaches.
Job Description and Requirements:

● Conduct original, high-quality research and publish in leading venues.
● Teach required and elective courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
● Supervise M.A. and Ph.D. students.
● Contribute actively to the academic life of the School and its administrative duties.
● Apply for competitive research funding.
● Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The primary language of instruction is Hebrew, though some courses are offered in English.
