Together with the Professorship of Yiddish Studies, the two professorshios advertised should contribute to the develcoment of a profile, particularly in the field of Modern Jewish Cultures. An in-depth understanding of jewish modernity rooted in knowledge of the religious and cultural traditions of judaism is stipulated. We are looking for scholars with profiles that are compatible with the faculty’s key areas, who are enthusiastic about working closely with contagues, and are open to a new departnchts structure as the Institute of Jewish Studies. Excellent Hebrew and English language skills are required; the successful applicant is able to teach in German.
